The spring arrived and the year draws to a close. As usual, to prepare the house for the festivities come the questions … What can I plant? How much will I spend? What land should I use? How to care?
When you buy a pet, everyone knows that there is to take care of and prevent disease, not to mention love, dedication, and education. For if we made based on these same prerequisites when choosing the pet plants, four crucial questions automatically come to mind:
- What kind of plants can I have?
- What care should I take?
- How will lead to the growth of my plan?
- How many years will it last?
To begin with, the first question that should be done is that plants can have. Everything will depend on the hours of light solar (direct or otherwise), available space (growing area), and personal commitment to watering, cultivating, and transplanting.
Let’s learn some basic things about the land in which we grow. This will be our starting point in this first post hands, Horta.
The land is on the ground, planter or vessel, contrary to what appears is no single formula or have the same properties. It can be sorted by color, texture ( granularity ), and density.
The color reveals the source. The darker, more organic matter have. The more red, the higher the content of oxides, and the paler, more was washed.
The black of vegetable origin, it is joint side valleys and rivers where clay and litter accumulate (s errapilheira is the accumulation of leaves and organic debris at the foot of trees). This land is an excellent structure to have a lot of organic matter, is light, well-drained, rich in nutrients. It may be too acidic for some cultivars and perfect for others. It is the natural land of ferns, mosses, shade foliage and plants of the Atlantic, such as the Princess Earring.
But much attention to the counterfeiting market where dyes are aggregated as coal, to make a black look. If you do not stain your fingers and is not pasty, it is false.
The more brown, chocolate color, more mixture of clay components, more neutral and oldest in training. It is a land of orchards, carried by rain and deposited in small recesses of the area. Suitable for cultivation, but a bit poor in organic matter, which favors a more significant number of species. To add fertilizer and restructures the soil for it to come backlight, aerated, fluffy.
When the earth is red, it has the presence of mineral oxides, especially iron, which is also good. A land fertile, but without mixtures, without organic components, maybe the best property for cultivation to have much more. Being young earth, just that adds nutrients according to the needs of a growing and its structure is light, well-drained and fluffed to bear much fruit. It is the famous red earth, so named by the Italian immigrants who settled in Sao Paulo at the beginning of the 19th century Rosso, in Italian, means red and so was ed earth.
And finally, the pink land or faded, it is a land washed by the rains, with much mica (mineral composed of silicates and oxygen, very common in Brazil). Also known as gravel, she suffered oxidation by the weather – sun, rain, heat, and cold. It is generally collected from ravines, with the sandy origin, suitable for cacti and hardy plants. In some cases it is tolerable to the native cerrado cultivation, such as Palm and Lobeiras, being a very acidic and aluminum content earth.
